Marine Science Adventures checklist

We will be exploring 8 different eco-systems. These systems vary widely, and the right clothing and shoes will make the trip much safer and more enjoyable. Please bring old clothes that you don’t mind getting wet and dirty.

Socks and tennis shoes must be worn at all times in each eco-system!
No boots, crocs, open toed shoes or sandals should be worn in the eco-systems.

Free time at the retreat is fun time!

Bathing suits, shorts, t-shirts, flip flops, tennis shoes, etc. are all acceptable.

  • Backpack Is A Good Idea For Carrying Supplies In The Field

  • Flashlight Or Headlamp For Night Seine (Optional)

  • Plastic Bags To Sit On After You Are Wet After Excursion On Way Back To Retreat

  • Bring Pump Soap And Paper Towels For Bunk & Leader Rooms

  • Waters For Your Day Out & Also Extra Waters For Your Picnic Lunch That Day Out-IMPORTANT

  • Any Extra Snacks Or Drinks Wanted (no vending machines, convenience store a block away)

  • For Coffee Drinkers We Have Coffee Makers But No Coffee Or Supplies, Please Bring If Wanted

  • For Coffee Drinkers We Have Mr. Coffee Makers But No Coffee Or Supplies. Please Bring Your Own If You Want Coffee (kitchen is locked 5-7am). You Can Take A Coffee Maker To Your Room The Night Before. You Can Also Go To The Convenience Store A Block
